This session provides a practical, non-judgemental introduction to harm reduction as a public health approach.
Participants will learn:
- What harm reduction is (and what it is not)
- Why harm reduction is essential in the context of the toxic, unregulated drug supply
- Common myths & misconceptions
- How harm reduction supports community safety, public systems, and individual dignity
- The role all of us play in reducing harm across systems
Length: 45-60 minutes
This session focuses on how stigma impacts people who use substances – and how it shows up unintentionally in systems, language, and policy.
Participants will learn:
- how stigma contributes to overdose risk and disengagement from services
- common stigmatizing language and how to shift it
- how substance use intersects with trauma, housing instability, mental health, and poverty
- practical ways municipal staff can reduce harm through everyday interactions and decisions

This session provides clear, age-appropriate education on topics like consent, healthy relationships, protection methods, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections.
Participants will learn:
- Components of healthy & unhealthy relationships, boundaries, consent, & abuse
- Basic anatomy and how the body relates to sexual health
- Different methods of protection and how they reduce risk
- How STBBIs are transmitted, prevented, and tested for.
